Ground support equipment (GSE) is used at airports around the world to assist in the daily running of aircraft fleets.

EMTEK Support design and build a range of GSE trucks for diverse uses, such as: catering, disabled access and medical transfers. They are also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of trucks all over the UK.

ASL360-12 Surround View has been deployed in this instance to help guide the vehicle to its operating position by improving all-round visibility. Once the scissor lift is activated, the system switches to a wide angle quad view, giving the lift operator the ability to see 360 around the vehicle.

To achieve this view we used: Four wide angle cameras; each with 180° field of view, mounted at the front, rear, left and right sides of the vehicle. And two LCD monitors; one mounted in the cab for the driver, and one mounted in the body for the scissor lift operator.

The ASL360-12 ECU unit is mounted into the body of the truck; for ease of access should the engineers wish to upgrade the system in the future by adding more views and greater numbers of cameras.
